Eligibility
Must live in Michigan to qualify for a Hamburg Township Library card.
Apply In Person:
- Driver's license with current address, or
- Utility bill with current address
- Visit during regular library hours
- Complete application at circulation desk
Apply Online:
- Complete online application form
- Visit library to verify identity
- Bring required identification
- Card may take up to two business days

Checkout Limits

Maximum per library card
Checkout Period:
- 3 weeks standard checkout
- 1 renewal available (if no holds)
- Cannot renew items with holds
- Cannot use spouse's card without permission
Hold Policies
How Holds Work:
- Place holds on available items
- Place holds on checked-out items
- Get notified when items are ready
- Choose notification method: email, text, or phone
- Items will be held for 3 business days
- If you cannot pick it up in this time frame, please give us a call and we will see what we can do
Fine-Free Library
Hamburg Township Library is Fine-Free!
We've eliminated overdue fines to remove barriers and make library resources accessible to everyone in our community.
What This Means:
- No overdue fines on books
- No overdue fines on magazines
- No barriers to borrowing
- Focus on reading and learning

- Replacement fees still apply for lost items
