RESOLUTION TO APPROVE LIBRARY MILLAGE PROPOSAL
Special Meeting Date: March 4, 2014 at 7:00 PM
Present: A. Byerly, S. Crouch, M. Eibler, M. Farrell, R. Hocking, J. Katakowski

Resolution offered by: Andrew Byerly | Seconded by: Richelle Hocking
WHEREAS Clauses:
- 1. Library is organized under 1877 PA 164 serving Hamburg Township residents
- 2. Per Section 10c of Act 164, if estimated costs exceed previously authorized millage (expired 2013), increased millage question must be placed on ballot
- 3. Library Board determined increased funding necessary for 8 years (2014-2021 inclusive)
- 4. Amount not to exceed 0.80 mill for operating, maintaining, equipping library and all authorized purposes
THEREFORE, the Library Board RESOLVES:
- Determines that library support and maintenance funding must be increased
- Resolves to present additional new millage to Township electors at August 5, 2014 election
- Authorizes Secretary to submit resolution and ballot language to County and Township Clerks
- Rescinds any inconsistent resolutions

Shall the tax limitation imposed on all taxable real and tangible personal property within Hamburg Township, Livingston County, Michigan, for the purpose of operating, maintaining and equipping the Hamburg Township Library and for all other library purposes authorized by law, be increased for said Township to an amount not to exceed .80 mill ($.80 on each $1,000 of taxable value) against all taxable real and tangible personal property for a period of eight (8) years, 2014 to 2021, inclusive; and shall the Township levy such new additional millage for said purpose?
Revenue Estimate
The estimate of the revenue the Township will collect if the millage is approved and levied by the Township in the 2014 calendar year is approximately $718,000.
