Call to Order and Pledge to the Flag:
This regular meeting of the Hamburg Township Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Rochelle Hocking at 7:08pm in the Patricia Waters Community Room.
Approval Of:
- Motion to approve Agenda as presented made by Rosek; Seconded by Walter; Motion carried.
- Motion to approve the minutes from August 20, 2024 as presented made by Rosek; Seconded by Assenmacher; Motion carried.
Call to the Public: No comments.
Financial:
- Rana Emmons of Post, Smyth, Lutz & Ziel reviewed 2023-2024 financial audit and gave an unmodified opinion. Motion to accept Audit Report and forward to Township made by Colone; Seconded by Walter; Motion carried.
2. Motion to approve August Financial Report made by Walter; Seconded by Colone; Motion carried.
3. Motion to approve Voucher #654 in the amount of $76,134.25 made by Colone; Seconded by Walter; Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report:
- In-house Statistics: 4,718 Patrons Served; 87 New Patrons; 6,532 Item Check-outs; 168 computer uses.
- Online Statistics: 3,023 Libby; 263 Zinio; 72 Fold3; 96 Heritage Quest; 11 TumbleBooks; 5 Niche Academy.
- Other News: League of Women Voters will be here Oct. 12 for voter information

- Library rebrand project update discussed; the board has decided to move forward as proposed by Lisa Assenmacher.
- Roofing project is complete.
New Business:
- Two CD’s maturing:
- Motion made by Rosek to approve rollover of CIBC CD for $513,500.00 plus interest earned into a 364 day CD at the current rate of 4.50% or better on maturity date; seconded by Walter. Motion carried.
- Motion made by Rosek to approve rollover of State Bank CD for $364,510.32 plus interest earned into the best possible rate and terms at time of rollover; seconded by Walter. Motion carried.
Friends Report, Debbie Kooperman reporting
- August Gift Shop Sales = $306.90 and contents have just been revamped
- Book Sale is coming up in October followed by Rummage sale in November
- Kroger Community Rewards = $111.96 from 36 households
- Planning another Gardening Series for Spring 2025
- 2023-2024 Annual Meeting & Election scheduled for 9/18/24
