Library Board of Trustees Meeting

Minutes
This regular meeting of the Hamburg Township Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Jodie Colone at 7:00pm in the Patricia Waters Meeting Room.
Present: Matt Assenmacher, Jodie Colone, Mary Evergreen, Richelle Hocking and Bridgette Rosek and Crystal Walter.
Absent: None.
Also Present: Holly Hentz, Christine Weber, and guest Lisa Assenmacher.
Approval of:
- Motion to approve Agenda as presented made by Hocking; seconded by Rosek. Motion carried.
- Motion to approve the minutes from September 16, 2025 as presented made by Rosek; seconded by Walter. Motion carried.
Call to the Public: No comments.
Financial:
- Motion to approve September 2025 Financial Report made by Rosek; seconded by Hocking; Motion carried.
- Motion to approve Voucher #667 in the amount of $81,384.71 made by Evergreen; seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
- Motion to authorize Hamburg Township Treasurer to close Choice One Bank CD maturing on 10/22/25 and move all funds and interest earned into a Money Market Account made by Rosek; seconded by Evergreen. Motion carried.
Motion to authorize Hamburg Township Treasurer to close the Choice One Bank Money Market Account and transfer all funds to Flagstar Checking Account made by Evergreen; seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report:
- In-house Statistics: Patrons Served: 4,101; New Patrons: 403; Item Check-outs: 5,924; Computer Uses: 125.
- Online Statistics: Libby: 3,208; Zinio: 644; Fold3: 0; Heritage Quest: 6; Ancestry: 0; TumbleBooks: 12; Niche Academy: 46.
- Other News: Baker & Taylor, largest library wholesaler in the world, is going out of business. We’re switching to Ingram. Kensington Woods School will be displaying ecosystem collages the month of November at the Library.

Friends Report - Debbie Kooperman
- Fundraisers: September Gift Shop Income = $432.39. Fall Book Sale Income = $1,920.05. Upscale Rummage Sale is 11/15 - Corinne Gottman is reaching out for volunteers now! Winter Crafts Day scheduled 1/24/26 8:30am-7:30pm for $50.
- Shelter Animal Kit Assembly - volunteers assembling the Shelter Animal Kits.
- Kristine Wolff and Pat Dare will be representing FOHTL at 2 Halloween Events.
- FOHTL fully funded 4 Winter Music Programs for the library = $1,775!
- Christmas in the Village 12/13 - Kim Troost will be representing FOHTL as Mrs Klaus for Storytime at the Story Walk at 12:00pm.
- New Board Members are in place - Brian Kunde - Member at Large, Debbie Mariani - Director of Fund Raising and Kim Troost - Director of Public Relations.
- Garden Committee began fall cleanup w/Girl Scouts on 10/11 and will continue until finished. The Garden Fairies have safely migrated to Florida and will be back in the spring!
