Library Board of Trustees Meeting

Minutes
Present: Matt Assenmacher, Jodie Colone, Mary Evergreen, Richelle Hocking, Bridgette Rosek, Crystal Walter.
Absent: None.
Also Present: Holly Hentz, Christine Weber.
Call to Order and Pledge to the Flag:
This regular meeting of the Hamburg Township Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Richelle Hocking at 7:03 pm in the Small Meeting Room.
Approval of
- Motion to approve Agenda as presented made by Rosek; seconded by Assenmacher. Motion carried.
- Motion to approve the minutes from October 15, 2024 as presented made by Colone; seconded by Walter. Motion carried.
Election of Board Officers:
- President: Colone nominated to role of President by Assenmacher; seconded by Walter. Colone accepted nomination. Motion carried.
- V. President: Crystal Walter nominated to the role of V. President by Assenmacher; seconded by Colone. Walter accepted the nomination. Motion carried.
- Treasurer: Mary Evergreen was nominated to role of Treasurer by Assenmacher; Seconded by Rosek. Evergreen accepted nomination. Motion carried.
- Secretary: Richelle Hocking was nominated to role of Secretary by Assenmacher; seconded by Walter. Hocking accepted nomination. Motion carried.
Call to the Public: None present.
Financial
- Motion to approve October 2024 Financial Report made by Rosek; seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
- Motion to approve Voucher #656 in the amount of $130,283.34 made by Evergreen; seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report
- In-house Statistics: 5,158 Patrons Served; 69 New Patrons; 5,281 Item Check-outs; 132 computer uses.
- Online Statistics: 2,975 Libby; 308 Zinio; 122 Fold3; 29 Heritage Quest; 1 TumbleBooks; 2 Niche Academy.
- Other News: Hentz and Strandt were present at the grand opening of StoryWalk at Winklehaus Park.

Old Business
- Library re-brand project: Lisa Assenmacher will begin soliciting patron input (program attendees, front desk, online) in new calendar year. Library staff will look over survey questions.
- Ceiling drywall repairs minimal and completed. Adult Group Study Room window cracked by rock from lawnmower has been repaired and paid for by Township.
New Business
- Letter to township regarding new billing content finalized and will be forwarded to Supervisor Hohl within the week.
- New Freedom to Read legislation has been put forth for state legislators to pass into law. It is hoped to be completed by early December. Hentz will update.
