Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes
March 18, 2025
Meeting called to order by J. Colone at 7:00pm in the Patricia Waters meeting room.
Members present: Matthew Assenmacher, Jodie Colone, Mary Evergreen, Richelle Hocking, Bridgette Rosek, Crystal Walter.
Members absent: None.
Also present: H. Hentz, C. Weber.
Approval of
1) Motion to approve the agenda as presented made by Hocking, seconded by Rosek. Motion carried.
2) Motion to approve the minutes from February 18, 2025 made by Rosek, seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
Call to the Public: None present.
Financial
1) Motion to approve the February 2025 Financial Report made by Hocking, seconded by Assenmacher. Motion carried.
2) Motion to approve Library Voucher #660 for $84,044.16 made by Evergreen, seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report
1) In-house Statistics: 3,895 patrons served; 83 new patrons; 5,052 items checked out; 133 computer uses.
2) Online Statistics: 2,880 Libby checkouts; 393 Zinio checkouts; 0 uses of Fold 3, Heritage Quest, Ancestry; 175 TumbleBooks uses; 9 Niche Academy uses.
3) Other News: Family Fun Day on March 15 at the 2|42 church with 300+ attendees.

Correspondence
1) None.
Old Business
1) Update on Strategic Planning with Lisa A. – Survey postcards have been printed and mailed. 137 responses so far. Will continue until at least 750 responses are received.
New Business
1) Federal budget cuts – Hentz reviewed the recent presidential executive order that will remove funding from IMLS and what it means for Michigan libraries.
2) Public review & discussion of proposed 2025/2026 budget – Hentz reviewed the proposed budget, discussed any big changes to specific line items, and goals for next year.
Friends Report, Debbie Kooperman
1) Dedication of the new illuminated globe in the memory of Linda Gacioch is Saturday, March 29 at 2:00pm. All are invited to attend.
2) Monthly gift shop sales = $320.30. and upcoming fundraising events (gardening series, spring & fall book sales, fall gardening series, crafting day, and rummage sale).
3) Debbie will be working on brick pavers painted to look like books.
