Call to Order and Pledge to the Flag:
This regular meeting of the Hamburg Township Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Michaelene Farrell at 7:00 pm. in the Patricia Waters Community Room.
Present: Michaelene Farrell, Richelle Hocking, Jodie Colone, Mary Evergreen, Bridget Rosek
Absent: Crystal Walter  
Also Present: Holly Hentz, Christine Weber

Approval Of:

• Motion to approve Agenda as presented made by R. Hocking; seconded by J. Colone; Motion carried.
• Motion to approve the minutes from June 21, 2022 as presented made by B. Rosek; seconded by J. Colone; Motion carried.

Call to the Public: None present.

Financial:

• Motion to table June 2022 Financial Report until August when released by Auditor made by J. Colone; seconded by B. Rosek; Motion carried.      
• Motion to approve Library Voucher #628 in the amount of $62,542.05 made by M.Evergreen; seconded by B. Rosek; Motion carried.

Librarian’s Report:

• In-house Statistics: 3,723 patrons served; 50 new patrons; 6,395 in-house item check-outs, 90 computer uses.
• Online Statistics: Axis360 check-outs: 851; PressReader check-outs: 121; Ancestry uses: 0; Fold3 uses: 0; Heritage Quest uses: 0; Infobase uses: 0; Career Guidance uses: 0; Niche Academy uses: 29.
• Other News: There are four ladies who volunteer to take care of the library gardens: two work in the serenity garden, one cares for the mailbox garden and one more just started and is finding her place.  In addition, the spice club has planted herbs and vegetables in the American Flag garden.

Old Business:

• Library Millage Update - All large sandwich board signs are placed in visible locations throughout Hamburg Twp. Final community forums to address Millage Q&A at Library scheduled on 7/25/23 - Mary Evergreen will attend with Holly.
• Hiring New Library Page to replace Elsa prior to her departure for college at the end of the summer.

New Business:

• Review/discussion of annual Policies initiated - tabled discussion regarding existing Telecommute Policy and potential new Challenged Materials policy until all members are available to participate.

Friends Report:

• Debbie Kooperman Reporting status per 7-1-22 Meeting:
• Friends website updates continue to move forward with assistance from Library IT contact.
• Friends have provided final letter supporting millage to Library, helped get posters in local businesses, signs on major roads and Judy Webber will be doing an interview with Holly for WHMI radio will be recorded Friday 7/22 @ 3:30pm.
• Membership Applications are rolling in - 50+ to date and discussing a fall “open house-tour-social” to meet members and encourage their involvement (book sale, gift shop, social media, etc.) while also moving forward with plans with Business Memberships.
• Friends Book Sale signs have been ordered - Library is helping offset some costs with HOPE Grant funding.
