Minutes
Present: Matt Assenmacher, Jodie Colone, Mary Evergreen, Richelle Hocking, Bridget Rosek and Crystal Walter.
Absent: None
Also Present: Holly Hentz, Christine Weber
This regular meeting of the Hamburg Township Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Colone at 7:00 pm in the Patricia Waters Community Room.
Approval of:
- Motion to approve Agenda as presented made by Hocking; seconded by Rosek. Motion carried.
- Motion to approve the minutes from May 20, 2025 as presented made by Walter; seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
Call to the Public: No one addressed the board.
Financial:
1) Motion to approve May 2025 Financial Report made by Rosek; seconded by Walter. Motion carried.
- Motion to approve Voucher #663 in the amount of $87,400.59 made by Evergreen; seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report:
- In-house Statistics: Patrons Served: 4,805; New Patrons: 63; Item Check-outs: 4,973; Computer Uses: 143.

Old Business:
- Update on Strategic Planning – Lisa reported on the community survey results. She plans to present the first draft of the new brand in September. Hoping to have it refined by January 2026 to coincide with the library’s 60th anniversary year.
New Business:
- Motion to roll-over Choice One Bank CD for $380,297.23 plus interest on 7/14/25 for a 90 day term at 4.10% or better made by Rosek; seconded by Evergreen. Motion carried.
- Shared generator with senior center - quotes in process.
Friends Report with Debbie Kooperman:
- Spring Book Sale proceeds: $2,482.15
- Library Gardens - Spring cleanup complete; 2026 Huron River Watershed Council Calendar pictures of gardens taken. Local Jr Girl Scout Troop 40725 will work with Debbie to install a Bee House, Butterfly House, Bee Watering Station and helping with gardens.
- 2025-2026 Budget in place
- Election - Open Roles for Director of Fundraising, Member At Large, Director of PR/Marketing.
- Facebook = 442 followers, and the website has been updated
- FOHTL Volunteer Recognition - Ice Cream Social 7/25/25 5:30-7:30pm at the Township Pavilion
- Upcoming Fundraisers - Puzzle Swap on 10/25, Fall Garden Series on 9/10, 9/17 & 9/24, Fall Crafters Day on 9/13, and Rummage Sale w/Vintage Jewelry on 11/15.
- Google Drive Training led by Matt Assenmacher - date/time TBD
Relevant Board Issues:
- Show library community involvement via pictures on website & Facebook (Watershed Calendar, Girl Scout project, etc.)
- Crystal Walter will not be at the July meeting.
