This regular meeting of the Hamburg Township Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Walter at 7:00pm in the Adult Group Study Room.

Approval of:

• Motion to approve Agenda as presented made by Rosek; Seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.
• Motion to approve the minutes from July 15, 2025 as presented made by Hocking; Seconded by Rosek. Motion carried.

Guest Presentation:

• Girl Scout Troop 40725 Garden Project Recap & Tour - Emmie Glowacki & Mae Alexander.

Call to the Public: None present.

Financial:

• Motion to approve June 2025 Financial Report made by Hocking; Seconded by  Evergreen. Motion carried. Note: this report corresponds with the upcoming annual audit in September.
• Motion to approve July 2025 Financial Report made by Rosek; Seconded by Assenmacher. Motion carried.
• Motion to approve  Voucher #665 in the amount of $119,208.19 made by Evergreen; Seconded by Hocking. Motion carried.

Librarian’s Report:

• In-house Statistics: Patrons Served: 5,522; New Patrons: 59; Item Check-outs: 7,530; Computer Uses: 190.
• Online Statistics: Libby: 3547; Zinio: 523; Fold3: 0; Heritage Quest: 0; Ancestry: 0; TumbleBooks: 8; Niche Academy: 2.
• Other News: 151 out of 332 children completed the summer reading program.  We were present at the Kids’ Resource Fair on Aug. 2 @ 2/42 church.  About 80 families came to the group table.

• Year-end statistics – Hentz passed out the year-end statistics to compare with other years.
• New millage rate = 0.8396.
• New policy: Financial Operating Procedures, #8 ACH Transfers - coordinating with Township, Auditor, etc. to define.
• Employee Healthcare Plan – The township is in negotiations with union members to determine a cost-effective health care plan.  Hentz will report back.

Friends Report:

• Gift Shop Sales $695.60 = June $363.35 + July $332.25
• July Volunteer Recognition via Ice Cream Social deemed a success!
• Annual Meeting and Election scheduled for 9/17/25 @ 6:30-7:30pm.  Received 4 Nominations to date vs 5 Open Roles (1 New) - nomination due date was extended to 8/25/25.
• Fall Garden Series: GARDEN DESIGN – Sep. 10, Sep. 17 & Sep. 24  10:00-11:00am $25.
• Fall Crafting Day = Sep. 13 from 8:30am - 7:30pm $60.
• Fall Book Sale - Donations Oct. 1-4, Presale Oct. 4, Sale Oct. 6-11.
• Fall Rummage Sale - Donations 11/13-14, Sale 11/15 9:00am - 3:00pm

Relevant Board Issues:

• Annual Trustees & Directors Meeting scheduled for 10/1/25 at Fowlerville Library.  Attending: Bridgette, Richelle, Matt, Holly, Christine.  Not attending: Mary.  The rest should RSVP to Holly ASAP.
